Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week Fall 2012 collections have kicked off with some serious fall style.  This may be our chic-est fall to date!  Already spotted are fabulous coats, skinny crops, midi skirts, fur, colourblocking (yes again), neons (yes again), and my personal favourite fall booties.

Day 2: Red, White, and Clash

It’s time for reds’ evil sister to come out to play.  Blood red.  Sounds sexy and dangerous right?  This deep version of red has been seen in almost every collection where there is colour and will be one of the top colour trends for fall 2012.

Spotted on the runways was fur in every imaginable way, “moto” style jackets, peacoats, body con (short for body conscious) dresses, skinny cropped pants, and lastly loads and loads of leather in all catagories.  Think: leather head to toe.  This Fall 2012 is going to be the season to go for it.

Day 4: Fall’s Must Haves

Very interestingly, neon has finally taken a step back from the limelight leaving way for some really rich but deep fall colours. The midi length skirts are still reigning supreme. Peacoats are the new “it” jacket and again more fur.
But trends do come and go, so here is a look at the three most solid trends that have been going strong since day one: http://www.typef.com/blog/typef-blog/day-4-learning-abcs/?utm_source=tumblr&utm_medium=tumblr&utm_campaign=fwf2012

Day 5: Trends With Timeless Appeal

Topping the overall and obvious trend lists are grey suits, double breasted jackets, pencil skirts, slim cropped pants, relaxed sporty leather pants and structured jacket after structured jacket.  I’ve also noticed the return of crocodile embossed leather at DKNY as well as ostrich leather at Marc Jacobs.

What trends from the first five days of NYFW are you a fan of?
