Christmas Finds: Favourite Festive Films!

As the most wonderful time of the year roles around for another time, movies unanimously take center stage and pretty much dominate life as we swap our late night- stiletto filled Saturday nights for cosy, onesie ones by the fire! And so more time are spent cosying up with loved ones.
Without further ado, I thought that I'd scoop together a bunch of my favourite festive films for the holidays! Here goes....enjoy!

Elf

Miracle on 34th Street

Love Actually

A Grandpa for Christmas

The Grinch

Christmas with the Kranks

Deck the Halls

Christmas Finds: Bath Bombs

If you are a bath taker, you've no doubt tried a bath bomb in your tub before. If not, a bath bomb is a circle shaped ball that when placed under water fizzes like Alika-seltzer leaving your bath with bubbles, colour and many times, an oil to moisturise your skin!
One of Lush's founding items is their bath bombs and this year they have released a range of christmasy fancies! According to their website, they currently have 18 bombs to choose from, however new scents come regularly. They all have fun, unique names such as:Champaign SupernovaThe Happy Pill and Sex Bomb. Lush's Bath Bombs are unique in the fact that you'll many times be surprised by what comes out of the tub. Your bath could be filled with sparkles or dried flowers to set the mood for Christmas!!
The relaxing soak with a fantastic Lush Bomb is worth every pretty penny of a mere £2-£5, to recieve softer skin and feel serenaded into the Christmas spirit on a cold winter's night before being tucked up in bed!
Will you purchase a Christmas bath bomb?

Christmas Finds: Deck the Halls

Decorating for the greatest holiday of all (in my opinion), is one of the things I most look forward to each year!

I'm a sucker for glittery things, which is why I adore Martha Stewart's Glittered Deer Table Decorations:

I love the smell of pinecones and this idea from Sweet Paul is a brilliant way to incorporate them into your home during the winter season:

This idea comes from member Sarah Teutsch. Wrap up surfaces, such as your fireplace mantle, to add a fun but festive touch to your room:

I like to mix in fun colours for the holidays. While red, white and green may reign supreme, these multi-color DIY Seed Bead Ornaments via Kaboose are an easy way to add some extra colour to your holiday:

Try grouping together your favorite holiday themed accessories like nutcrackers, jars of festively coloured candy and mini tress to create a gorgeous yet cheerful wintertime table spread:

Make a pretty centerpiece wreath like member Petra Zeller featured on her blog, Sweets of Life:

I was at Anthropologie a few days ago and spotted the cutest idea that would be very easy to replicate at home: Mason Jar Snow Globes! I think it might be cute to use the Glittered Deer Table Decorations as alternative filler:

When it comes to holiday décor, I go by the philosophy "the sparklier, the better," which doesn't always mean glitter has to be in the mix. When I came across Hayeseed Homemakin's DIY for Firefly Christmas Lights, it was love at first sight:

Every year I like to make my own wreath for the door. I spotted this sweet idea to add the house number on Teach Craft Love and am planning to make my very own Front Door Wreath this weekend:

Christmas a la vin!

Wine Cork Christmas tree
It never seems to feel like Christmas until one has got their arts and crafts kit out from that old, cobweb engulfed cupboard. However, unlike the usual decorating of biscuits of looping paper chains, I have created a new and innovative Christmas decoration.
Behold: Christmas a la vin!

Method
1. Simply start by gathering some wine bottle corks (the more varied the better!)
2. Apply your chosen pattern or decoration to the bottom of each cork, adding lots of colours and shapes!
3. Stand all the corks on the table vertically and begin to arrange them into a Christmas tree shape
4. Using a glue gun, begin to bond each cork together with one another
5. Optional- Attach to a small piece of wood finished with a bow tied around its middle.

And voila! There you have it..you're very own Christmas a la vin decoration to store and display as you wish!

Will you try out this new and innovative decoration?

Mani Monday- Christmas Special

While you’re all probably busy decking the halls right now, perhaps you’ll be able to take a break to get fancy, festive + fun with this manicure tutorial! I really wanted to string some lights across my nails and so I did… Literally! Here’s how I created these lil’ cuties:
TOOLS: base & top coat, green polish & red polish (you can use any colours you want), white or off-white polish, cuticle nippers or small scissors, black cotton string, a small brush or pointed q-tip.
STEPS:
  1. On clean nails, do a solid coat (or two thin coats) of white or off white polish.
  2. After the white polish dries, do one clear coat. The string will adhere to this so make sure it’s not too fast drying or too thin of a coat.
  3. Drape black string over the nail and let it loop as above. Cut the string about 1/2 inch longer on each side of the nail. Don’t trim it down yet.
  4. Add a thin clear coat on top of the string to secure.
  5. Once that dries, trim the string down using cuticle nippers or small pointy scissors.
  6. Next is the fun part– adding your lights. Pick any colours you want!
  7. Last, do one coat of a quick drying clear polish.

Will you check out these chrimbo nails?
